Can anyone sign-up to play on a Panther team?
Yes! We do have multiple registrations throughout the spring and summer. Our intent as an organization is to allow all kids to play football - therefore, we create as many teams as necessary to compenstate our registered players.

However, the more teams we try to field requires more volunteers to coach, administer, and help. Additionally, there are some limitations at each level around age and weight and what is allowed. Those guidelines can be found in the bylaws listed on the Bill George website.

How many games are played during the season?
There are 8 games played each season, 4 home games which are played at Doerhoefer Park (Downers Grove) or Jefferson Junior High (Woodridge) and 4 away at various towns which are also members of Bill George Youth Football League. In addition, each team may play in one or two bowl games which are practice games typically played within the first few weeks of the season.
How often do they practice?
Teams practice Monday through Friday the first month. Once school starts the practices are 3 to 4 days per week depending on the age of the kids.
Where do they practice?
During the first month of the season, all teams practice at O’Neill Middle School located off of 59th Street. Once school starts, the teams split and practice at either Doerhoefer or McCullom Parks. Both parks are located in Downers Grove.
How long is practice?
Practice is from 6:00 to 8:30. Some teams end prior to 8:30 depending on the age of the players. Coaches do take into consideration bedtimes, once school starts, especially for the younger players.

How long are the games?
A game normally lasts about 1 hours. Teams normally arrive to the game field about 1 hour prior to game time. Players are free to leave after a short team meeting immediately following the game.
How do I know what weight class my child will go to?
All players are weighed initially at registration and when they pick up their equipment. Parents at that time are made aware of any child who may need to move up to a higher weight class. Players are also weighed each week starting with the first regular season game. Players are allowed additional weight-one pound per week for growth once the season begins.
